Search the film's title in KFCB's online Film Catalogue (kfcb.go.ke/film-catalogue-and-data) to see its rating: GE, PG, 16 or 18. Banned films are listed in KFCB's 'Restricted Films in Kenya' document and can't be shown commercially.

What you need
- Nothing to search the catalogue. For other film data: a written request to KFCB's Chief Executive Officer
Steps
- Open KFCB's Film Catalogue (kfcb.go.ke/film-catalogue-and-data). It lists all films KFCB has classified.
- Type the film's name or genre in the search box. Each entry shows the rating, year, country and the themes behind the rating.
- To check if a film is banned, open 'Restricted Films in Kenya' on KFCB's Film Classification page.
- Need data the catalogue doesn't show? Write to KFCB's Chief Executive Officer. It's free.
Watch out
- 16 and 18 ratings are legally binding: nobody under that age may watch the film. PG is advice to parents for children under 10.
- A restricted (banned) film can't be shown commercially in Kenya.
- If a film isn't in the catalogue, it may not be approved yet. No film may be distributed, shown or broadcast in Kenya without KFCB approval.

- Anyone: viewers, parents choosing for their children, and businesses that show or sell films.
