What you need

  • Passport bio data page for each director
  • Memorandum and articles of association (CR 2)
  • The company's business registration number
  • KRA PIN for each director
  • For some projects: an Environmental Impact Assessment, plus security and health clearance

Steps

  1. Register your company in Kenya and get its business and tax IDs. Invest Kenya's Digital One-Stop Centre can help.
  2. Apply for the investment certificate online at services.investkenya.go.ke and upload your documents.
  3. Pay the application fee. The amount isn't published, so the portal shows it when you apply.
  4. Invest Kenya does a site visit to your project, then issues the certificate.
