Submit a development application (form G, KSh 500) to Kilifi County's physical planning office and pay KSh 34 per square metre of built-up area for plan approval. When the building is done, get an occupation certificate.

Steps
- Fill in the development application form (form G) at the county physical planning office and pay KSh 500.
- Pay the plan approval fee: KSh 34 for every square metre of built-up area. A 100 m2 house works out to KSh 3,400.
- County officers inspect the site; each site visit costs KSh 2,500.
- When the building is finished, get an occupation certificate (KSh 3,500 per unit for low-density housing).
Watch out
- Building first and seeking approval later costs more: regularising unapproved plans is charged at 150% of the normal approval fee.
