Steps
- Create an account or log in on BometPay, the county's payment portal.
- Work out your zone: Bomet town is Zone A, trading centres like Sotik, Kaplong, Mulot and Longisa are Zone B, and other areas are Zone C.
- Pay the KSh 300 application fee and the permit fee for your business category and zone.
- Renew for each new calendar year before 1 April to avoid the penalty.
Watch out
- From 1 April the penalty is 5% a month and it compounds, so a late permit gets expensive fast.
- The permit covers a calendar year, not 12 months from when you paid.
Who can apply
- Anyone running a business in Bomet County needs a licence or permit from the county.
