Get or renew a Kisii County business permit

Fill in Kisii County's Single Business Permit form and pay through the county's Revenue Self-service portal (selfservice.kisii.go.ke). The permit runs to 31 December, so renew by 31 March each year to avoid a 5% monthly penalty.

What you need
- The Single Business Permit registration form (download it from kisii.go.ke)
- Your business registration certificate number or ID number, and your KRA PIN (the form asks for them)
Steps
- Download the Single Business Permit application form from kisii.go.ke and fill in your business details: name, physical address, plot number, activity and premises size.
- Get your bill. It adds up the application or renewal fee, the permit fee for your business type, waste management and fire compliance fees, plus signage, rates or arrears where they apply.
- Pay on the county's Revenue Self-service portal (selfservice.kisii.go.ke), linked from the Finance department page.
- Renew every year. Your permit expires on 31 December, and renewal is due by 31 March.
Watch out
- Miss 31 March and you pay a penalty of 5% of the permit amount for every month you are late, and it keeps adding up.
- The application fee is not the whole bill. The permit fee depends on your type of business, and waste and fire fees are added on top.
- A permit paid in, say, October still ends on 31 December. It does not run for 12 months.
Who can apply
- Anyone running a business in Kisii County. The county registers all businesses.
