License a motor vehicle body builder with NTSA

Apply and renew online on the NTSA service portal and pay KSh 9,650. Bus bodies you build must meet the Kenyan standard KS 372:2019.

Steps
- Log in to your account on the NTSA service portal and fill in the body builder application.
- Pay KSh 9,650. The same fee applies when you renew.
Watch out
- NTSA enforces KS 372:2019 for bus bodies, so materials, design and build must meet that standard.
- NTSA publishes a list of approved body builders. Check that your company is on it before taking orders.
- Bus bodies also need a certificate of conformity and a VIN plate fixed by a conformity assessor.
