Pay an instant traffic fine (minor traffic offence)

National Transport and Safety Authority · sources read 30 Sep 2026

Pay the fine physically into the NTSA account at any KCB branch or KCB agent. Instant fines are NOT paid on eCitizen, and genuine notices come only from the 22847_NTSA SMS code.

Fee
We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
Where
In person at any KCB bank branch or KCB agent (NTSA account). Not on eCitizen.
Go to NTSA

What you need

  • The notification, which shows the offence, date, time, place, penalty and payment instructions

Steps

  1. You get a Police Notification of Traffic Offence: by hand from a police officer, stuck on your vehicle, or by SMS or email.
  2. Check it is genuine: official notices come from the NTSA short code 22847_NTSA.
  3. Decide: admit the offence and pay within the time given, or dispute it in court.
  4. To pay, go in person to a KCB branch or KCB agent and pay into the NTSA account.

Watch out

  • Instant fines are NOT paid on eCitizen. Anyone asking you to pay a fine another way may be a scammer.
  • Ignoring the notice, not paying, or not showing up in court when required can lead to harsher penalties from the courts.
  • Keep your phone and email up to date in the NTSA system so notices reach you. You also have the right to see the photo or video evidence.

Who can apply

  • Drivers or registered vehicle owners who get a Police Notification of Traffic Offence for a minor offence.
