What you need

  • The official payment invoice for your land rates from the county

Steps

  1. Ask the County Government of Baringo for an official payment invoice for your land rates. You pay against that invoice.
  2. Pay the invoice by M-Pesa Paybill 315330, or deposit it into KCB account 1141231549.

Watch out

  • If you get a written demand for unpaid rates, you have 60 days to pay before the county can act.
  • Rates left unpaid after a demand can end with the county auctioning the property.
  • If the county charges interest on late rates, the law caps it at the Central Bank rate.
  • Pay only to the county's Paybill 315330 or KCB account 1141231549, not to a person's phone number.

Who can apply

  • Owners of land or buildings in Baringo County, including holders of leases with 21 years or more left
  • In some cases the person occupying the property is the one who pays
