Steps

  1. Open the county's self-service portal (kajiado.craftcollect.africa, linked from kajiado.go.ke) and look up your land rates.
  2. Pay by M-Pesa on the portal and save the digital receipt it gives you.
  3. Prefer to go in person? Visit a county land rates office: Kiserian, Kajiado town, Kitengela, Ngong, Namanga, Isinya, Matasia, Oloitokitok, Sultan Hamud or Mashuuru.
  4. Ask whether you can pay in instalments. The law lets the county allow instalments or one full payment.

  • Rates left unpaid after a demand can end with the county auctioning the property.
  • If the county charges interest on late rates, it can't be more than the Central Bank rate.

Who can apply

  • Owners of land or buildings in Kajiado County, including holders of leases with 21 years or more left
  • In some cases the person occupying the property is the one who pays
