Pay Meru County land rates

Pay Meru land rates online on the county's Revenue e-Services portal (linked from meru.go.ke) or in the Meru App, and keep the receipt. For help, call the county contact centre on 0709 241 000.

- Rates are charged per financial year. The county must announce the payment date in the Kenya Gazette at least 60 days ahead.

Steps
- Go to meru.go.ke and click 'Revenue e-Services' at the top of the page.
- On the county revenue portal, choose land rates and pay. The same portal also takes ground rent and plot rent.
- Prefer your phone? The Meru App has a Land & Housing section for land records and rates payment.
- Stuck or unsure of your balance? Call the Meru contact centre on 0709 241 000 or email merucounty@meru.go.ke.
Watch out
- If you get a written demand for unpaid rates, you have 60 days to pay before the county can act.
- Rates left unpaid after a demand can end with the county auctioning the property.
Who can apply
- Owners of land or buildings in Meru County, including holders of leases with 21 years or more left
- In some cases the person occupying the property is the one who pays
