Register as a commercial green leaf transporter or tea nursery operator (Tea Board of Kenya)

Apply on the Tea Board's IMIS portal (imis.teaboard.or.ke) and attach the required documents. The fee is KSh 5,000 for a new registration and KSh 2,000 to renew, paid only after approval.

What you need
- Transporter: vehicle owner's ID or passport (or certificate of incorporation and CR12 for a company)
- Transporter: logbook(s) for vehicles of at least 3.0 tons, NTSA inspection certificate(s) and insurance
- Transporter: green leaf transport contract signed by the tea factory, plus the list of growers and routes it gave you
- Nursery: certificate of incorporation, directors' ID or passport copies, land particulars (L.R. No.), PIN certificate and a valid tax compliance certificate
Steps
- Transporter: fill in Form TBK\TB\E on the TBK IMIS portal (imis.teaboard.or.ke).
- Nursery: fill in Form TBK\CG\A, or your organisation details on your county government's platform where that applies.
- Attach your documents and submit. New applications and renewals are both done online.
- Pay the fee once your application is approved.
Watch out
- Transport vehicles must have a capacity of at least 3.0 tons.
- You need a signed contract with a tea factory before you apply as a transporter.
- A company or registered entity also needs a valid tax compliance certificate.

- Commercial green leaf transporters and commercial tea nurseries operating in Kenya
- A green leaf transporter carries green leaf from a buying centre to the factory, with the Board's authority
