Register as a farmer on KIAMIS (for Government support)
Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development · sources read 1 Oct 2026
Register for free at your nearest ward, sub-county or county agriculture office (or with your chief) so your details go onto KIAMIS, the Government farmer register. Being on KIAMIS is what lets you get subsidised fertiliser and other Government support.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- In person at your ward, sub-county or county agriculture office, or through your local chief or an agripreneur (the details go onto the KIAMIS system)
What you need
- Your national ID card
- Your mobile phone number (e-voucher codes and advice come by SMS)
Steps
- Go to your nearest ward, sub-county or county agriculture office and ask to be registered on KIAMIS. It is free.
- You can also be registered by an agripreneur or extension officer in your area. They enter your details on KIAMIS and county officers check them.
- Make sure your registration is validated. Your chief or agriculture office can confirm this.
- Once verified, you get Government support such as e-voucher codes for subsidised fertiliser by SMS on the phone number you registered.
Watch out
- Only farmers whose details are on the official register sent to NCPB can buy subsidised fertiliser. Register well before the planting season.
- Registration is free. If anything goes wrong, go to your nearest County Agriculture Office.
Who can apply
- Farmers who want Government support such as subsidised fertiliser must be on KIAMIS
- Registration is open and ongoing, not a one-off exercise
