Fill the free 3-part National Skills Inventory form on labourmarket.go.ke to record your skills for national planning. To get jobs from clients, sign up as a fundi on FundiLocator (app.labourmarket.go.ke), add your skills and area, and submit for verification.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Online: labourmarket.go.ke/skills-inventory (skills inventory) and app.labourmarket.go.ke (FundiLocator)
What you need
- Your national ID or birth certificate number (skills inventory)
- Details of all your education and training (skills inventory)
- For FundiLocator: a valid national ID and a working phone number
- For FundiLocator: your trade, skill category, years of experience and service area
- Optional: certificates, photos of your work or references
Steps
- Open labourmarket.go.ke/skills-inventory, fill all three short sections (personal details, education and training, employment) and click Submit.
- To find work, sign up as a professional on FundiLocator (app.labourmarket.go.ke), complete your profile and add your skills and service area.
- Submit your profile for verification. Once verified, you show up in search results and clients can book you.
Watch out
- The skills inventory is for national planning and is kept confidential. It does not by itself list you for jobs; use FundiLocator for that.
- FundiLocator checks your identity, credentials and, where needed, trade licences before you get the verified badge.
- You must agree to FundiLocator's code of conduct and quality standards.
Who can apply
- Skilled workers and technicians (fundis) such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters and welders.
- Non-Kenyans can fill the skills inventory too; the form asks for a work permit number.
