Tourism Fund support: free upskilling for tourism workers (TTRF), loans and grants
Tourism Fund · sources read 3 Oct 2026
Tourism Fund pays for free short upskilling courses for hospitality workers through the Tourism Training Revolving Fund (TTRF). Register on tf.co.ke/ttrf when your county is open for intake.
- Fee
- FreeUpskilling training (sponsored by Tourism Fund)
- Where
- Online at tf.co.ke/ttrf (Tourism Fund's TTRF site), then training at an approved institution
Steps
- Go to tf.co.ke/ttrf and check whether your county is open. Intakes open in phases, a few counties at a time.
- Choose your county of residence and register under the correct category.
- Programme administrators review applications; if you're picked, you get the training details.
- Attend the course at the approved institution (1 to 3 weeks) and get a certificate when you finish.
Watch out
- Apply once per intake, and under your real county: applications under the wrong county are not considered.
- TTRF student loans for regular tourism courses are still being launched; no application route is posted yet.
- Tourism Fund's grants go to public bodies such as the Kenya Tourism Board and Utalii colleges, not to individuals or private businesses. Investors can approach the Fund about public-private partnerships instead.
Who can apply
- Workers in the hospitality industry who need more training or have no certificate
- Only people from the counties open in the current intake
