Buy a Kenya Standard (or propose a new one)
Kenya Bureau of Standards · sources read 3 Oct 2026
Buy Kenya Standards online on the KEBS Webstore (webstore.kebs.org) and pay by card or M-Pesa; the PDF is ready to download from your account. You can also buy at the Standards Information Centre at KEBS Headquarters or a regional office. To propose a new standard, apply through KIMS or write to the KEBS Managing Director.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- How long
- Electronic standards: within one working day after payment
- Where
- Online on the KEBS Webstore (webstore.kebs.org), or in person at the Standards Information Centre, KEBS Headquarters, or KEBS regional offices in Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri and Garissa
Steps
- Go to webstore.kebs.org and register: click 'My account', then 'Register'. Your details are used to watermark the standards you download.
- Search by standard number (for example KS 459), product name or a phrase, then add the standard to your cart.
- Check out and pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard) or M-Pesa.
- After the order confirmation, download the standard from the 'downloads' tab in your account.
- To ask for a new Kenya Standard, send a proposal through the KEBS KIMS portal or in writing to the Managing Director of KEBS.
Watch out
- A PDF standard is licensed to one user and watermarked with your name, so buy it in the name of the person who will use it.
- If your order stays 'pending', you probably did not tick 'terms and conditions' before clicking 'Complete', or the payment did not go through.
- Paid but no download? Email info@kebs.org and KEBS will activate the download manually.
Who can apply
- Anyone can buy a standard. The Standards Information Centre is open to all members of the public.
- A new standard can be proposed by manufacturers, service providers, consumers, government ministries, companies or NGOs.
