Check if a recruitment agency is licensed

National Employment Authority, via the State Department for Diaspora Affairs · sources read 2 Oct 2026

Before you pay any fee or hand over documents, search the agency by name or NEA registration number on the official register at diaspora.go.ke/verify. Only deal with an agency whose licence shows as Valid.

Fee
We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
Where
Online at diaspora.go.ke/verify (register of NEA-licensed agencies) or on NEAIMS
Go to NEA

Steps

  1. Go to diaspora.go.ke/verify and type the agency's name or NEA registration number in the search box.
  2. Check the status badge: Valid means the licence is current; Expired means it is not.
  3. You can also check on the National Employment Authority's own live tool on NEAIMS (neaims.go.ke).
  4. Use the official contacts in the register to confirm directly with the agency, and if in doubt call the Diaspora Affairs team on +254 114 757 002 before you pay.

Watch out

  • Check before you pay anything or give out your passport or papers.
  • An agency can be licensed one year and suspended or expired the next, so check the status now, not an old certificate.

Who can apply

  • Anyone, especially Kenyans planning to work abroad, before they travel
