Kenya National Examinations Council · sources read 30 Sep 2026
For KCSE, go to results.knec.ac.ke and enter your index number and name. For KJSEA, use kjsea.knec.ac.ke with the assessment number and at least one name. KPSEA learner reports come through your school, which downloads them from the KNEC CBA portal.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Deadline
- Any query about KCSE results must reach KNEC through your school within 30 days of release. Late queries attract a KSh 5,000 penalty.
- Where
- Online on KNEC's results portals (results.knec.ac.ke for KCSE, kjsea.knec.ac.ke for KJSEA), or through your school
What you need
- KCSE: your index number and your name as registered
- KJSEA: the learner's assessment number and at least one of their names
Steps
- KCSE: open results.knec.ac.ke, type your index number and registered name, accept the privacy notice and tap View Results.
- KCSE: get your official result slip from your school. KNEC sends result slips for every candidate to the exam centres.
- KJSEA (Grade 9): open kjsea.knec.ac.ke, enter the assessment number and at least one name, accept the privacy notice and search.
- KPSEA (Grade 6): ask the school for the learner's performance report. The head teacher downloads it from the KNEC CBA portal using the assessment number.
Watch out
- Online KCSE results are provisional. Your certificate comes later, through the school where you were registered.
- KJSEA result slips are provisional and KNEC can still correct them.
- Problems with KJSEA or KPSEA results are raised by the school in writing through the Sub-County Director of Education within 30 days. KNEC's toll-free lines are 0800 721410 and 0800 724900.
Who can apply
- The KCSE checker is for the candidate, a parent or guardian, or an authorised school representative.
