The Judiciary of Kenya · sources read 3 Oct 2026

Search free on Judiciary e-filing (efiling.court.go.ke) under 'Probate and Administration (P&A) Matters Filed' or the Public Information Kiosk, no account needed. You can also check the Probate Gazette issues posted by the Principal Registry, or contact the registry at Milimani Law Courts.

Where
Online on Judiciary e-filing (efiling.court.go.ke), or at the Principal Probate and Administration Registry, Milimani Law Courts, 2nd Floor, Room 245, Nairobi
Go to the official site

Steps

  1. Open efiling.court.go.ke and use the 'Probate and Administration (P&A) Matters Filed' menu on the home page to look for the deceased's case.
  2. To see where a case has reached, search it on the Public Information Kiosk (efiling.court.go.ke/kiosks).
  3. Check the Probate Gazette special issues on the Principal Registry page. Each notice gives brief details of the deceased and the person who applied.
  4. For help, contact the Principal (Probate and Administration) Registry: Milimani Law Courts, 2nd Floor, Room 245, Nairobi; principalregistry@court.go.ke; 0730181398.

Watch out

  • Once a succession case is gazetted, objections must reach the court where it was filed within the period in the notice, at least 30 days. Check early.
  • The Principal Registry links all courts handling succession and certifies (Form 30) that the same estate isn't filed twice. The court station applies for this, not you.
  • To read the documents in a case, you need to sign up for an e-filing account.

Who can apply

  • Anyone: public case information is free and needs no account
