Find and apply for county government jobs (County Public Service Board)
County Public Service Boards · sources read 3 Oct 2026
County jobs are advertised and filled by your county's own County Public Service Board, so check that county's website or board portal for adverts and apply exactly as the advert says before it closes. Every county has one board.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Your county's County Public Service Board, through the county website or the board's own jobs portal
Steps
- Pick the county you want to work for and open its official website. The Council of Governors lists all 47 county websites. You can also ask us by name, for example 'Nakuru county jobs'.
- Look for the County Public Service Board section (often 'Careers', 'Vacancies' or 'Adverts'). Each county has its own board that recruits county staff.
- Some boards run their own jobs portal (for example Kericho's). Apply the way the advert says, with the documents it asks for, before the closing date.
- If you are picked, make sure you get your appointment in writing from the county.
Watch out
- A county job offer is only valid in writing. Don't accept a phone call or a payment request as an 'appointment'.
- If you are unhappy with a board's recruitment decision, you can appeal in writing to the Public Service Commission within 90 days.
- Boards must keep a record of all applications for each advert, and anyone may inspect it.
Who can apply
- Anyone who meets the requirements in the advert. Boards must advertise widely, especially to reach disadvantaged groups.
