Generate an ICPAK UDIN (Unique Document Identification Number)

If you are a licensed audit partner (Category A or C), log in to the ICPAK licence portal (licenses.icpak.com), submit the audit opinion details and download the UDIN serial number and QR code. Since 1 October 2025 every audit opinion you sign must carry it at the bottom.

What you need
- Signing date of the audit opinion
- Client's full legal name
- Financial year under audit
- In a partnership: the partner who will approve the request
Steps
- Create an account at licenses.icpak.com/register using your ICPAK member number.
- Log in to the licence portal and submit a new audit opinion request with the signing date, client name and financial year.
- Get the request approved by the designated partner (for example the managing partner). Only approved codes can be verified.
- Download the UDIN and QR code (a copy also comes by email) and put it at the bottom of the audit opinion before you issue it.
Watch out
- Leaving the UDIN off an audit opinion counts as professional misconduct under the Accountants Act.
- After approval you can't just edit it: request an amendment, which the assigned partner must approve.
- For now UDIN covers audited financial statements (audit opinions); ICPAK plans to extend it to all practitioners' reports later.
Who can apply
- Partners in an audit firm with a valid licence for the current year, holding a Category A (Assurance) or C (Composite) practising certificate.
