What you need
- Indent from the allocating authority
- Release letter from your licensed surveyor
- Payment receipt
Steps
- Get the indent from the authority that allocated the land or approved the change, for example the Lands office after an allotment or subdivision approval.
- Have a licensed surveyor survey the land and give you a release letter.
- Pay KSh 2,500 for each parcel and hand in the indent, release letter and receipt at the Survey of Kenya. The Director of Surveys checks the work before the map is updated.
- Use the amended RIM or deed plan to process your lease, or to register a subdivision at the land registry.
Watch out
- A leasehold title can't be processed without a RIM or deed plan, so do this first.
- To register a subdivision you need the amended RIM, along with the mutation form and other documents.
- The fee is per parcel. If you split land into several plots, you pay for each one.
Who can apply
- Land owners or allottees whose land was surveyed by a licensed surveyor after an allotment or an approved land transaction, such as a subdivision.
