Get an official company search (CR12) from BRS

Log in to BRS on eCitizen, choose Official Search (CR12), enter the company's name or registration number and pay KSh 650. For a verified company the search comes out instantly; otherwise it takes 3 to 5 days.

What you need
- The company's registered name or registration number
- Your postal address and code, email and phone number
Steps
- Log in to BRS on eCitizen, click Make Application and choose Official Search (CR12) for private limited companies, then Apply Now.
- Type the company's name or registration number, pick the right company and click Next.
- If the company shows as Verified, fill in your postal address, email and phone, click Save and Continue, then tick the confirmation.
- Click Finish and pay KSh 650.
Watch out
- Only verified companies get an automatic search. If the company is not verified on BRS, expect to wait a few days.
- The search is addressed to whoever is logged in and applying, so apply from the account of the person or business that needs it.
Who can apply
- Anyone. Any member of the public can ask the Registrar for a copy of a company's records.
