Apply for Recognition of Prior Learning on NITA's eCitizen portal. NITA screens your evidence, assesses you at an approved centre and, if you pass, gives you a national certificate for skills you learnt on the job.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Online on NITA's eCitizen portal; screening and assessment at NITA-approved centres. NITA HQ: Commercial Street, Industrial Area, Nairobi.
What you need
- Evidence of your skills and work (your portfolio of evidence), for the RPL practitioner to check
Steps
- Log in to NITA's eCitizen portal (nita.ecitizen.go.ke) and choose Recognition of Prior Learning.

- Sit the assessment at a NITA-approved assessment centre.
- If you pass, NITA awards you a formal national certificate.
Watch out
- RPL often runs in group intakes with counties and government programmes. Ask your county vocational training centre about the next one.
Who can apply
- People with technical skills who have no formal certificate for them.
