Invest, lease land or set up at Konza Technopolis

Anyone able to sign a contract can lease land at Konza Technopolis, a special economic zone. Apply on the Konza One Stop Shop (oss.konza.go.ke): submit an expression of interest with documents and a 15,000 registration fee, get evaluated, send a letter of intent, then sign the lease and pay the stand premium. Leases run up to 21 years (short-term) or 60 or 90 years (long-term).

Steps
- Optional first contact: send an investor inquiry on konza.go.ke/invest. KoTDA says its investment team replies within 48 hours with an investment brief, parcel options and incentive details.
- Register on oss.konza.go.ke and submit an expression of interest with your documents and the 15,000 registration fee (the portal does not state the currency).
- KoTDA evaluates your documents and issues a Letter of Notification.
- Send a letter of intent to confirm you want to proceed.
- Receive a letter of offer, pay the stand premium, register the lease and take over the site.
Watch out
- Lease prices are not published: they vary by area, so email KoTDA for a quote.
- Land is leased, not sold: short-term leases up to 21 years, long-term leases of 60 or 90 years, only for the use set in the Master Plan.
- A lease can be transferred, but only with conditions.
- Konza is a special economic zone, so investors get the incentives in the Special Economic Zones Act.
Who can apply
- Anyone with the capacity to enter into a valid contract can hold land in Konza.
- There is no minimum investment amount.
