Link an older company or business name to your BRS eCitizen account

If your company or business name was registered before the eCitizen system, log in to BRS eCitizen as a director, director-shareholder or company secretary, click Link Business, search for it, fill in its details, and upload the signed beneficial ownership form for review. Once approved, it shows under My Businesses.

What you need
- The business details: name, registration number, registration type and registration date
- Share details (category, number and value of shares) and the registered office address
- Personal details and shares of all directors and shareholders, plus beneficial ownership information
- The auto-generated beneficial ownership form, signed
Steps
- Log in to BRS eCitizen with the eCitizen account of a director, director-shareholder or company secretary.
- Click Link Business, enter the business name or registration number, search, select it and click Next.
- Fill in the business details, nature of business, registered office, shares and all directors and shareholders.
- Download the beneficial ownership form, sign it, upload it and submit for review.
- Once approved, the business appears under My Businesses as Active; click View to manage it.
Watch out
- BRS has admitted some records differ between the old system (V1) and the new one (V2) and is fixing them as a priority. If your details look wrong, raise it with BRS before filing changes.
- If your application is queried, use the chat/comment feature on BRS V2 to talk to the reviewer directly.
- Only a named director, director-shareholder or company secretary can link. An accountant or agent without that role can't.

- A named director, director-shareholder or company secretary of the business, with their own eCitizen account.
