The Mombasa commuter train links Mombasa Terminus (SGR) and Mombasa Railway Station in town via Miritini. The fare is KSh 50 and the trip takes about 35 minutes; trains are timed to meet the Madaraka Express.

Steps
- Catching the SGR to Nairobi: take the link train from Mombasa Railway Station at 6:25am, 12:35pm or 7:20pm for the 8am, 3pm or 10pm Madaraka Express.
- Arriving from Nairobi on the SGR (4:00am, 2:00pm or 8:30pm): take the link train from Mombasa Terminus to town at 4:10am, 2:25pm or 9:00pm.
- Have a valid ticket and get to the departing station on time.
- Driving? You can park and take the train to and from Mombasa town.
