Kenya Revenue Authority · sources read 2 Oct 2026
Log in to iTax and choose 'Apply Payment Plan' under the Payment module. Plans of up to six equal monthly instalments are approved automatically; longer plans need approval from your Tax Service Office.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- How long
- Up to 6 instalments: approved immediately. More than 6: within 2 working days once all documents are in
- Where
- Online on the KRA iTax portal (up to 6 instalments), or at your KRA Tax Service Office for longer plans
Steps
- Log in to iTax. Under the Payment module, select 'Apply Payment Plan'.
- Pick the tax obligation and the periods you owe. You can 'add all', and include several taxes in one application.
- Choose up to six instalments and submit. An acknowledgement comes to your iTax email.
- Need more than six instalments? Apply at your Tax Service Office with reasons and supporting documents.
Watch out
- Miss one instalment by the end of its month and the plan is cancelled. KRA can then reinstate agency notices and withdraw your TCC.
- Include all your valid debts, across all taxes, in one plan. You won't get a TCC unless every debt is in the plan.
- After paying the first instalment, you can ask KRA to lift agency notices or relax the TCC block, with proof of payment.
Who can apply
- Taxpayers with a valid KRA PIN and a confirmed tax debt that isn't under active litigation
