Pay KRA taxes (payment slip, M-Pesa or bank)

Generate a payment slip on iTax to get a Payment Registration Number (PRN), then pay through M-Pesa paybill 222222 with the PRN as the account number, or take the slip to a KRA-appointed bank.

What you need
- The payment slip from iTax, with its Payment Registration Number (PRN) at the top right
Steps
- Log in to iTax, open Payments and choose Payments Registration. Pick the tax head, sub-head and tax period, then generate the payment slip.
- On M-Pesa, pay to paybill 222222. Use the PRN as the account number and pay the exact amount on the PRN.
- Or dial *222#, choose Pay KRA bill, enter the PRN (e-slip number) and pay with M-Pesa.
- Or take the printed payment slip to any KRA-appointed bank and pay there.
- You can check the PRN details in the KRA M-Service App (Verify Payment Registration details) or with *572# (Check E-slip).
Watch out
- Mobile money payments to KRA go only through the government paybill 222222. Don't pay to any other number someone gives you.
- Paying late costs 5% of the tax due plus interest of 1% a month until it is fully paid.
- Can't pay it all at once? Use the payment plan feature on iTax.
