Pay WRA water use charges and send your meter readings

If you hold a WRA water permit, you pay water use charges every month, by the 15th, for the water you used the month before. Send your meter readings and pay through the WRA customer portal or app.

Steps
- Make sure a smart meter is fitted at your abstraction point. Every permit holder needs one.
- Log in to the WRA customer portal (systems.wra.go.ke/client) to see your abstraction details. First time? Create an account.
- Take the reading from your meter and send it to WRA (Form WRA 015).
- Check your bill and pay. The WRA customer app lets you pay charges, send readings and see bills and statements on your phone.
- Pay by the 15th of each month for the water used the month before.
Watch out
- Late payment adds interest of 2% a month until you clear the bill.
- If you don't send readings, WRA reads the meter itself, and can estimate your use if it thinks the readings are wrong.
- Not paying breaks your permit conditions. WRA can suspend or revoke the permit.
Who can apply
- Anyone who abstracts water under a WRA permit (borehole, river intake and so on) pays water use charges.
- Water companies (water service providers) also pay water use charges to WRA.
