Watch out
- Unit prices were reviewed from 1 October 2026, so a price you saw before then may be out of date. Check the current price of your unit on Boma Yangu before you work out your 5%.
- Each Kenyan can benefit only once: one Kenyan, one home.
- The Housing Levy on your payslip is separate from your Boma Yangu savings and can't be moved into your deposit.
- Saving by M-Pesa? Use eCitizen Paybill 222222 with account BOMA plus your ID number, no spaces (for example BOMA1234567).
Who can apply
- Any Kenyan citizen aged 18 or over with a national ID.
- Your monthly income decides the unit type: social housing (up to KSh 19,999), affordable housing (KSh 20,000 to 149,999) or affordable middle class (over KSh 150,000).
- You can pay cash, take a home loan, or use the Tenant Purchase Scheme: pay a 5% deposit, then fixed rent-like monthly payments until the house is yours.
- Social housing applicants who can't raise the deposit can ask the Board for help of up to 5% of the price.
