Go to PHOTC

What you need

  • Your certificates and documents, uploaded as PDF files under 2 MB each
  • Your ID number, registration number and an active email address (to sign up as a practitioner)

Steps

  1. Apply for indexing on osp.photc.org, upload your documents and pay through the M-Pesa Pay Bill and invoice number the system shows.
  2. Register for the Council exam under the "exam" tab, upload the required documents and pay as prompted.
  3. Complete your internship and get the report approved, then enrol under your registration number and sign up as a practitioner.
  4. After approval, sign in, click "download license", then print it in colour and laminate it.

Watch out

  • Keep your M-Pesa confirmation message. If a payment doesn't reflect, take it to the PHOTC office with your account details.
  • Already practising but not registered? You still need internship, or you'll be assessed and advised to apply for an internship waiver.
  • The portal only takes PDF files under 2 MB, so shrink large scans before uploading.

Who can apply

  • Public health officers and technicians who have completed internship. All interns must finish internship, get registered and hold a valid practice licence before practising.
  • Internship waiver: professionals who passed the Council exam and have practised for at least 2 years in relevant areas.
