Register as a Kenyan living abroad (diaspora registration)

Create an account on the State Department for Diaspora Affairs platform (platform.diaspora.go.ke), using eCitizen or the sign-up form with your ID or passport number. After you move, also register with the nearest Kenyan embassy, consulate or high commission.

What you need
- Your Kenyan national ID number or passport number (one is enough)
Steps
- Go to platform.diaspora.go.ke and choose Sign Up. You can register with your eCitizen account or fill in the form.
- Enter your details, your ID or passport number, and the country and city you live in, then complete your profile.
- Also register with the nearest Kenyan embassy, consulate or high commission. If there isn't one, register with a friendly country's mission or an East African Community partner state's mission.
Watch out
- Going abroad for work? You must do the pre-migration training first, and you are encouraged to register with the Kenyan embassy once there.
