Register as a medical or dental practitioner after internship (KMPDC)

What you need

• Internship completion certificate and the completion assessment forms, filled, stamped and signed
• Original and certified copies of your degree certificate, transcripts and Form IV certificate
• Copy of your internship licence
• Foreign-trained doctors: proof that you passed the pre-registration exam
• Copy of your ID or passport and a colour passport photo

Steps

1. At the end of internship, have your Medical Superintendent sign and stamp the completion of internship form.
2. Foreign-trained? Pass the pre-registration exam first.
3. Fill the permanent registration form, attach your documents and pay the KSh 8,000 registration fee.
4. Show KMPDC your original degree certificate so they can check it before your application is processed.

Who can apply

• Kenyan citizens with a recognised medical or dental degree from Kenya or the EAC who have completed internship and are of good moral standing.
• EAC citizens registered in their home country can apply for reciprocal registration.
• Other foreign doctors need to pass a KMPDC exam and apply for temporary registration.
