Rent a KIE industrial shed or incubation workspace

Fill KIE's Incubation Application Form (IAF) and hand in the documents it asks for. Once you meet the conditions and space is free, KIE allocates you a shed within 1 week; you pay 3 months' deposit and 1 month's rent upfront.

Steps
- Ask about free sheds: use KIE's contact form (choose 'Industrial Workspace (Sheds)') or visit a KIE branch.
- Fill the Incubation Application Form (IAF) and submit the documents it asks for.
- Pay the application fee KIE quotes in your offer, plus 3 months' deposit and 1 month's rent upfront.
- After you move in, pay the monthly charge by the 5th of every month.
Watch out
- A shed offer lasts 3 months. If you haven't started operating by then, KIE can withdraw it.
- KIE also runs Constituency Industrial Development Centres (CIDCs). For space there, enquire at the nearest CIDC.
- Already have a shed that needs repairs or expanding? KIE gives credit for that too; ask about Industrial Shed Rehabilitation.
Who can apply
- Kenyan-owned micro, small and medium industries, with a focus on rural industry
- MSMEs already in a workspace who need credit to repair, expand or modernise it
