SRC sets State officers' pay by Gazette notice. The gross monthly pay now in force (FY 2023/24 rates) is KSh 1,443,750 for the President, KSh 957,000 for a Cabinet Secretary or governor, KSh 725,502 for an MP or senator and KSh 154,481 for an MCA.

Steps
- President: KSh 1,443,750 a month gross (basic KSh 866,250 plus allowances).
- Cabinet Secretary: KSh 957,000 a month gross. A county governor gets the same.
- Member of the National Assembly or Senate (including Woman Reps): KSh 725,502 a month gross.
- Member of County Assembly (MCA): KSh 154,481 a month gross.

Watch out
- The higher 2024/25 rates were cancelled in July 2024 for lack of budget, so the 2023/24 rates still apply.
- These are gross figures (basic pay, house allowance and market adjustment) before tax. MPs also get car and mileage benefits on top.

- Covers State officers: the President and Deputy, Cabinet Secretaries, MPs and senators, governors, MCAs, and commissioners of independent offices.
