Track your passport application and collect your passport
Directorate of Immigration Services · sources read 30 Sep 2026
Check your passport's progress on your eCitizen account, or SMS the application number on your receipt to 22222. When you're told it's ready, collect it at the centre where you did biometrics with your invoice and original ID.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- How long
- About 14 days after biometrics
- Where
- Check on your eCitizen account (Directorate of Immigration Services) or by SMS to 22222; collect in person at the passport centre where you did biometrics
What you need
- The invoice with the token attached
- Your original national ID
- Your old passport booklet, if this is a replacement
- For a child: the child's original birth certificate
Steps
- Check progress by logging in to your eCitizen account, or SMS the application number on your receipt to 22222.
- Wait for the notice that your passport is printed and ready, then go as soon as you can.
- Go to the same passport centre where you did your biometrics.
- Bring the invoice with the token attached and your original ID. For a replacement, also bring your old passport.
Watch out
- You can't pick it up at a different centre. If you did biometrics in Kisii or Nakuru, you collect it there, not at Nyayo House.
- Keep your invoice safe. You need it, with the token attached, to collect the passport.
Who can apply
- Anyone who applied for a Kenyan passport and did biometrics at a passport centre: Nairobi (Nyayo House), Kisumu, Mombasa, Eldoret, Nakuru, Embu, Kisii, Kericho or Bungoma.
- Applicants abroad whose e-passport was processed at the missions in Washington D.C., London, Paris, Berlin, Pretoria or Dubai.
