Work abroad safely: register with NEA and get your foreign job contract attested

Register as a jobseeker on NEAIMS (neaims.go.ke), and before you travel have your foreign job contract attested by a Labour Officer. The officer checks there's no fraud and that the terms follow Kenyan law.

What you need
- Foreign Contract of Service form (LD21)
- Bond form (security the employer gives the Government of Kenya)
- List of your terms and conditions of employment
- Medical certificate showing you are fit for the job
Steps
- Sign up on NEAIMS as a jobseeker, log in with your ID number, and fill in your profile, qualifications and work history.
- Wait for NEA to verify your account before you move on to the other parts of your profile.
- Once you have a job offer, take your contract and documents to a Labour Officer to be attested before you travel.
- The Labour Officer checks that you agreed freely, there is no fraud or misrepresentation, and the terms comply with the Employment Act. A contract that fails is not attested.
Watch out
- It is a crime to send someone to work abroad without a foreign contract of service (fine up to KSh 200,000, up to 6 months in jail, or both). If an agent wants you to travel without one, stop.
- Going to Qatar? Your offer letter should be endorsed by the Labour Attaché to confirm the job exists.
- Going to Saudi Arabia as a domestic worker? Your contract is generated through MUSANED.

- Every Kenyan going to take up a job in another country needs their contract attested before travel.
