What you need
- Proof of enrolment in a licensed driving school (the school handles this with you)
Steps
- Enrol in a licensed driving school for the class you want. NTSA lists licensed schools on its website.
- Apply and pay for a provisional driving licence (PDL) for the new class on the NTSA portal.
- After the PDL has run for 21 days, book the endorsement test on the portal, pay, pick a date and sit the test at your chosen centre.
- Once you pass, log in to the NTSA service portal with eCitizen, select Driving class endorsement, pay and submit.
Watch out
- Some classes need experience first. For a light truck (C1) you must have held a B2 licence for at least two years.
- You can't sit the test straight away: the PDL must mature for 21 days first.
Who can apply
- Drivers who already hold a driving licence and want to drive another class of vehicle
