Appeal your HEF funding band or ask for more funding

If you think your HEF scholarship and loan allocation is wrong, apply for a review (appeal) online on the HEF student portal. If your money situation changes during your studies, fill in the online Funds Appeal form; extra money depends on funds being available.

Steps
- Log in to the HEF student portal (portal.hef.co.ke) and check your allocation.
- On the portal, submit the online scholarship and loan review application (the appeal).
- If your family's money situation changed after you were funded, fill in the online Funds Appeal form to ask for more.
Watch out
- A Funds Appeal is not guaranteed: it is reviewed only as far as money is available.
- Continuing students who sat KCSE before December 2022 are funded under the previous funding model, so this appeal is mainly for students under the new model.
