Apply for a pharmacy internship placement (PPB)
Pharmacy and Poisons Board · sources read 3 Oct 2026
Apply on the PPB practice portal (Students – Exams and Internship). Once PPB approves your application, download your internship letter from the portal and take it to the preceptor at the site in your posting order.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Online on the PPB practice portal (practice.pharmacyboardkenya.org), then in person at your internship site
What you need
- Your internship letter from the portal, addressed to the preceptor
Steps
- Sign in to the PPB practice portal and apply under Students – Exams and Internship.
- PPB posts interns to sites at random, based on how many interns each site can take.
- As soon as your application is approved, download the internship letter from your portal.
- Report to your internship site and give the letter to the preceptor.
Watch out
- You must go to the site in your posting order. PPB only considers a change on a written request, in reasonable circumstances.
- If the site says it is full, ask the preceptor to put it in writing, and PPB will consider another site.
- If you can't report on time, give a proper explanation; PPB looks at each case on its own.
Who can apply
- Foreign-trained applicants follow the same process, but cannot get an internship paid by the Kenyan government
