What you need

  • Copy of the student's national ID or student ID, or birth certificate
  • Fee structure and a letter from the school, college or university
  • Secondary students: last term's report form, or the calling letter and Grade 9 result slip if joining Grade 10
  • Copy of the parent's or guardian's ID, and a death certificate or burial permit if a parent has died

Steps

  1. When your constituency announces that bursary applications are open, collect the form free at the NG-CDF office, or download it from your constituency's NG-CDF website or ngcdf.go.ke/downloads.
  2. Fill in your details, then have your school, college or university fill in its bank details and stamp the form.
  3. Take the form to your chief or assistant chief to sign and stamp, confirming you live in the area. A parent or guardian also signs the declaration.
  4. Return the completed form with all attachments to the NG-CDF office before the deadline in your constituency's notice.

Watch out

  • Incomplete forms, or forms without the supporting documents, are not processed. Check every attachment before you hand it in.
  • You don't get cash: the bursary is credited only to the student's fee account at the school.
  • Each constituency has its own form, dates and deadline, so use the form for the constituency where you live.

Who can apply

  • Students in secondary school, special schools, and colleges or universities (certificate, diploma or degree)
  • You must live in the constituency: your chief or assistant chief certifies that you are a resident.
