Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service · sources read 30 Sep 2026
Log in to the KUCCPS Student's Portal with your KCSE index number, pick your courses in order of priority, and pay KSh 1,500 through eCitizen. Keep the eCitizen reference code: you reuse it to revise your choices.
- Fee
- KSh 1,500Placement application (covers revision of choices)
- How long
- Placement within 30 days after you submit your application.
- Where
- Online on the KUCCPS Student's Portal. Help is also available at Huduma Centres.
What you need
- Your KCSE index number, KCSE exam year and password (your KCPE index number or birth certificate number)
Steps
- Open the KUCCPS Student's Portal (students.kuccps.net or via kuccps.ac.ke) and log in.
- Check the programme lists, note the codes of courses you qualify for, then go to Application > Apply Now and enter them in order of priority.
- Submit, then pay KSh 1,500 through eCitizen (M-Pesa STK push or menu).
- Click "I have paid" and enter the eCitizen payment reference code to finish. You get an SMS when it goes through.
Watch out
- Use the eCitizen reference code, not the M-Pesa transaction code. Keep it: you need the same code to revise your choices later.
- You can pick at most six degree courses, or four for diploma, certificate and artisan courses, and only ones whose minimum requirements you meet.
- Paid to the wrong account? Send KUCCPS the transaction details to get it reversed. It can take a few days.
Who can apply
- Degree courses: KCSE mean grade of C+ and above
- TVET courses: any KCSE grade from A to E, for exams sat from 2000 onwards
