Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service · sources read 1 Oct 2026

Log in to the KUCCPS Student's Portal (students.kuccps.net) with your KCSE index number, KCSE year and password: your weighted cluster points are already worked out there. Subject requirements for each course are under the Programmes and Downloads tabs.

Fee

Where
Online on the KUCCPS Student's Portal (students.kuccps.net). Help is also at KUCCPS desks in Huduma Centres (Nairobi GPO and Makadara, Eldoret, Meru, Nyeri, Kisumu, Kakamega, Nakuru, Kitui, Garissa, Narok, Kitale, Isiolo, Kiambu, Mombasa)
Go to KUCCPS

What you need

  • Your KCSE index number and KCSE exam year, plus your password (your KCPE index number or birth certificate number)

Steps

  1. Go to the Student's Portal (students.kuccps.net, also linked from the KUCCPS website and the KUCCPS Students App) and log in with your KCSE index number, KCSE year and password.
  2. Read your weighted cluster points on the portal. KUCCPS computes them from KNEC data for each group (cluster) of four subjects a degree needs.
  3. Open the Programmes and Downloads tabs to see the minimum subject requirements for the courses you want.
  4. Compare your cluster points with each course's cut-off. The cut-off is the cluster points of the last student placed in that course, so choose some courses where you are comfortably above it.

Watch out

  • Don't trust cluster point calculators. KUCCPS says working them out yourself gives wrong points, because it uses KNEC data you don't have.
  • Meeting the minimum requirements lets you apply but doesn't guarantee a place. It depends on how other applicants did and how many places the course has.
  • Your seven best KNEC subjects count towards your cluster points, not just the four cluster subjects.

Who can apply

  • KCSE candidates. Placement uses KCSE grades only, so IGCSE results are not used.
  • Degree placement is for the latest KCSE class. If you sat KCSE between 2022 and 2025, KUCCPS has a Late Application for Degree Programme; Form Four leavers from 2000 to 2025 can apply for diploma or certificate courses.
