Pick a project marked 'Now selling' on nhckenya.go.ke, fill in the NHC house purchase form and pay a 10% deposit through eCitizen (*222#). Pay the rest over 18 to 20 years (tenant purchase) or within 90 days (outright), depending on the project.

What you need
- Filled NHC House Purchase Form (with ID number, income and project details)
- Employed: a certificate from your employer confirming your details. Self-employed: latest audited accounts or 6 months' bank statements.
Steps
- On nhckenya.go.ke, open a project marked 'Now selling' and read its terms: tenant purchase or outright sale.
- Fill in the NHC House Purchase Form (download it under Forms on the NHC website).
- Pay the 10% deposit through eCitizen (*222#, choose housing, then NHC).
- Return the filled form, with proof of the deposit, to NHC.
- Pay the balance on your project's terms: tenant purchase over 18 years at 13% or 20 years at 10%, or outright within 90 days of the offer letter. You can fund it with a mortgage from a mortgage finance company.
Watch out
- Only people who have paid the 10% deposit are considered, and units go first come, first served. If you miss out, your deposit is refunded without interest.
- Listed prices are provisional and NHC says 'particulars not warranted', so confirm the final price before you pay the balance.
- The tenant purchase interest rate is revisable, so your instalments can change.
Who can apply
- Members of the public. NHC sells on a first come, first served basis.
