Check if a construction project is registered with NCA
National Construction Authority · sources read 3 Oct 2026
Type the project ID or the developer's name into NCA's 'Search Registered Projects' page (nca.go.ke/approved-projects). Every construction project, public or private, must be registered with NCA, and it's the developer's job to do it.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Online on the NCA website (Search Registered Projects); questions to NCA head office, KCB Towers, Nairobi
Steps
- Open NCA's 'Search Approved Projects' page and type the Project ID or the developer's name, then press Search.
- Check the result: it shows the project name, developer, main contractor, architect, engineer and project type. Make sure they match what you see on site.
- Also look at NCA's 'Suspended Sites' list, linked at the bottom of every nca.go.ke page.
- If the project isn't listed or the site looks unsafe, tell NCA: info@nca.go.ke or 0709 126 102 (head office, 9th Floor, KCB Towers, Nairobi).
Watch out
- The developer (owner), not the contractor, must register the project. If it's missing, ask the developer first.
- The owner has 30 days from awarding the contract to apply, so a brand-new site may not show up yet.
- The contractor must also be registered with NCA and hold a valid practising licence for this financial year. Check them on NCA's contractor search too.
