Check if a medical laboratory or lab professional is licensed

Search the lab's name, file number or county on KMLTTB's Licence Records page (kmlttb.org/labsverification) and check that the Valid Year is current and the Status is active. For a lab technician or technologist, use Search Professional Records.

Steps
- Open kmlttb.org/labsverification and type the lab's name, file number or county.
- Check the result: the class, county, Valid Year (it should be this year) and Status.
- To check a person, open kmlttb.org/professionals (Search Professional Records) and search by name, ID number or registration number.
- Not listed or expired? Report it to KMLTTB through the online complaint form at kmlttb.org/complaint.
Watch out
- A lab needs both a registration certificate and a licence renewed every year. An old year in the register means the licence has lapsed.
- A licensed lab is not enough: everyone running tests there must also be a registered lab technician or technologist.
