Register as a lab CPD provider or get a lab training institution approved

Fill KMLTTB's CPD provider form (KMLTTB/TRN/03A) or training institution form (KMLTTB/TRN/03), attach your registration papers and a training needs assessment report, and submit to KMLTTB. CPD provider accreditation must be renewed every year.

What you need
- Letter of incorporation
- University charter, TVETA registration, or Gazette or Legal Notice
- Tax compliance certificate
- Police clearance for the director
- List of facilitators (or lecturers) with their CVs
- Memorandum of understanding
- Training needs assessment report
Steps
- Download the right form from kmlttb.org/forms: the CPD provider form or the training institution form.
- Do a training needs assessment and write up the report. KMLTTB needs it before it approves you.
- Fill the form, naming your coordinator or head of department and their KMLTTB registration number, attach the documents, then sign and stamp the declaration.
- Submit it to KMLTTB. The Registrar approves it, or KMLTTB raises queries about anything that doesn't comply.
- CPD providers renew their accreditation with KMLTTB every year. Check your status on KMLTTB's CPD providers list.
Watch out
- A training institution needs a licensed head of department with at least five years' experience, holding at least an MSc (universities) or a BSc or Higher National Diploma (colleges).
- Approved institutions must tell KMLTTB in writing at least 21 days before changing owner, head of department or premises.
- A provider that doesn't fix gaps after a non-compliance letter can be deregistered, or suspended for one to two years.
Who can apply
- CPD providers: legal entities such as health facilities, colleges and universities, professional associations, NGOs, faith-based groups, research institutions and reagent or equipment suppliers.
- Training institutions: any college or university that wants to offer medical laboratory sciences courses.
