Get a land rent clearance certificate

Pay all land rent due on Ardhisasa first. Once every invoice shows complete, download the land rent clearance certificate from the same land rent page; you need it to transfer leasehold land.

What you need
- An Ardhisasa account (ID number, password and your phone for the OTP)
- The title number of the parcel
Steps
- Log in to Ardhisasa with your ID number, password and the OTP sent to your phone.
- Open land rent services and search the parcel by its title number.
- Pay any invoice that is still due, by M-Pesa or at Co-operative Bank.
- When all payments show complete, download the clearance certificate.
Watch out
- The certificate only becomes available once all land rent has been paid, including old arrears.
- The land registry asks for a rent clearance when you register a transfer, so get it before the sale is lodged.
- A long-term lease or sublease also needs a rent clearance when you register it.
Who can apply
- Leasehold land owners who have paid all the land rent due on the parcel.
