Steps
- Go to the county sub-county office where your business is located and ask for a fire inspection.
- Pay for the certificate of inspection for your premises, such as KSh 8,000 for commercial premises.
- Pay only through an official county channel and keep the official receipt.
Watch out
- Hotels, guesthouses and lodges pay a yearly fee by bed capacity instead of the commercial premises rate: KSh 4,000 up to 20 beds, rising to KSh 10,000 above 50 beds.
- Fire extinguisher inspection is charged separately at KSh 200 per extinguisher.
