Steps
- Ask the county for a fire safety inspection of your premises and pay the KSh 2,500 inspection request fee.
- If a fire risk assessment is needed, pay by size: KSh 7,500 (1 to 5 people), KSh 20,000 (6 to 20) or KSh 50,000 (20 and above).
- Pay KSh 5,000 for the fire safety inspection licence at the county revenue office or a county agent.
- Display the licence at your business premises at all times.
Watch out
- Each fire safety device installed (like an extinguisher) gets an inspection sticker at KSh 200.
